Hi, I’m Jane Scheidecker, and my love of gems and stones comes from earliest years growing up in Montana where garnets, sapphires, and agates were abundant.
I got started in jewelry years ago fabricating and casting pieces evenings and weekends after work at a local community college with some fine teachers– Brooke Stone, among them (http://www.brookestonejewelry.com/).
I found Rotary in 1992 thanks to Dean Hansen. Now, recently retired, I have set up my own very small shop and I am deep in the process of returning to the flow of design and production of one-of-a-kind pieces. View our site – https://www.etsy.com/shop/TiarasNJewels
Tiaras N Jewels is an aspirational name. My husband Duane and I dug sapphires and garnets during many hot summers in Montana. What in the world am I going to do with all those gemstones? Well, I decided that a tiara would be the best showcase. Furthermore, I believe everyone looks wonderful in a Tiara. In sketching designs for my own first tiara—I realized that I needed to simplify to start– my idea of a tiara with 400 sapphires was too complex for me to make right out of the chute.
So come back from time to time to see how progress on the tiaras is going. Meanwhile, my pieces will be a showplace for some of the stones I have dug or sourced over 30 years of travel around the world, and you will see lots of experimentation in my shop.
Everything in my shop has been hand fabricated from sheet and wire. I work alone, I have no employees or helpers, though my dear husband will shoot a photo now and then. I design, fabricate, pack, and send everything myself. If you send me a convo, you’re actually communicating with me!
